Loudoun County Bed & Breakfast Guild Open House

For the 6th year, the Loudoun Bed and Breakfast Guild will host its Annual Open House Tour on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 1 to 5 pm at various locations around Western Loudoun County. This free, self-guided tour has become a favorite over the past six years.  It provides the public with the opportunity to visit a selection of unique and beautiful places around Loudoun County with samplings provided by wine, food and fun partners.

Touring guests are also eligible to win more than $1,000 in overnight stays, restaurant gift certificates, and special prizes in drawings at the individual B&Bs and event sites. Visitors can decide for themselves how many Bed and Breakfasts and event sites they want to visit during the afternoon.

This is a wonderful chance to look around the B and B’s which are not always open to those not actually staying there. Owners or managers will be on hand to answer questions as well.  There are ten bed and breakfasts and event sites taking part in the Loudoun Bed and Breakfast Guild Open House Tour this year:

Georges Mill Farm B&B
Hillsborough B&B (new this year)

Changing Seasons

As spring finally approaches, there are many things happening here in our tiny little town.  Annual events are starting their publicizing and the flowers are starting to bloom.  Even at Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast there are changes in the air.

We have made progress on our new building (the Chicken Coup).  The plumbing is going in and the electric wires are being installed! We are hoping that as the weather continues to warm up the progress will continue.

Along with this warmer weather that  I hope will continue we have officially entered wedding season.  The past  three weekends have been full of love, happiness and lots of laughter.  The pool has been opened, and we are waiting for the chemicals to be settled in the pool before we open it to guests. We look forward to helping our brides and grooms celebrate poolside later this summer.

We have even added a new member to our family.  If you follow us on Facebook you will have seen him.  His name is Sir Mail Hopkins!

We hope to see you soon!
